Thank You and The Winner is….

A big thank you to everyone who made a scarecrow for the scarecrow trail over the bank holiday weekend. It was an absolute delight to see so many fun and fabulous scarecrows popping up all over the village. There were also a large number of people who complimented the trail and individual scarecrows when they visited the hall for the art exhibition and cream teas.

Despite there being so many brilliant scarecrows, there could only be one winner of the competition for best scarecrow. This was voted for by those who bought a trail map. The winner was Sheelagh McGechan with her wonderful Mr McGregor Scarecrow. Sheelagh won a £50 voucher for the Castle Inn, paid for from entry fees to the competition.

Since the scarecrows delighted so many people and created such a wonderful atmosphere in the village, we’re planning on having another scarecrow trail running over August bank holiday weekend next year. If you want to join in, do hang onto anything that might be useful to create a scarecrow next year.
