Parish Council meeting 8.9.26

Lydford parish council’s regular monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 8th September, beginning with a public session at 7.00pm. The full agenda is –

  1. Lydford Gorge Bridge

To review the closure of the bridge and its cause and the repairs undertaken; and to consider any lessons which might be learnt, or actions which might be taken.

For the council to review progress towards objectives and decide on further action

  1. Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS) opposite Lydford Farm Shop – location

To discuss with Community Highways Officer whether the sign can be moved and if so, where it might be relocated to and how that removal might be achieved.

For the council to consider and resolve accordingly.

Comments have been received about the outdated information on the council website.

To consider a proposal that the council website might be better placed into an external provider’s hands

  1. Disabled access parking bay, School Road

To discuss with Community Highways Officer what can be done with the bay given that it is not being used.

To note the approval by DNPA of the following applications:

26/0055 Sewage Works EX20 4BH – works to trees in a conservation area

0124/26 Plot 6, Hawthorn Park – permission granted in principle for the erection of either an affordable residence or local need self build

To consider a previously submitted request for £100 grant to support the Bellringers’ purchase of a Chimes device.

  1. Clerk’s salary

The National Joint Council for Local Government Services has agreed on pay rates applicable from 1.4.26 to 31.3.27. The new rates are increased by 3.3% per annum.

To resolve to increase the Clerk’s salary in line with the new rates.

  1. Actions taken by the Clerk under the Scheme of Delegation

To approve any actions taken:

  1. 11.8.26 – Payment of Clerk’s August salary (£412.77), PAYE & Employers’ NI contributions (£98.79), Room hire for Extraordinary Planning Meeting (£11.00)
  2. Planning application 0261/26 Application at Heatherlands to demolish existing barn structure without replacement. After email consultations, the Clerk made no response to the request for consultation.
