Lydford Scarecrow Trail Competition August 2026

PRIZES

Sunday Lunch at The Castle Inn, Lydford, to the value of £60

£50 voucher for The Dartmoor Inn, Lydford.

£15 voucher for Okehampton Toy Shop

ENTRY

£3 per scarecrow/group of scarecrows made by the same household.

Free entry for under 12s.

WHEN

Scarecrows can be put out at any time from the 15th August onwards, but if you wish to take part in the competition, they must be in place by 9am on Saturday 29th August.  

THEME

A character/group of characters from a book.

HOW TO ENTER

You must register and pay for your entry before 9pm on Thursday 27th August with either Bekki T: 07949870812 Or Ellie T:01822 820210.

Scarecrows should be placed in visible places on or safely near your property. If you don’t have somewhere to place a scarecrow or live somewhere it won’t be seen by many people, we can place it for you.

COMPETITION Prizes will be awarded for:

Best scarecrow

Best Scarecrow Runner up

Best scarecrow made by an under 12
