Support is available for permanent residents in England aged 18 or over who want to create a new non-profit, community-managed allotment site. Green Allotments can fund the purchase of suitable allotment land up to £50,000 per acre, retaining ownership and offering the new allotment society a 30-year peppercorn lease with the intention to renew. This is not a cash grant, and applicants must be willing to help self-manage the new allotments on a voluntary basis.

Two strands are available: £20,000 to £40,000 for discovery, pilot and learning projects, and £150,000 to £300,000 for projects that scale or strengthen tested approaches.
